Peatlands International 1/2006
Peatlands International 1/2006 was published in June and sent to all IPS members, to stakeholders in peat and peatland issues as well as to the attendants of the SER Conference in Greifswald in August 2006.
Peatlands International 1/2006 contains, among others, articles on peatlands and their impact on climate change, the Mire Conservation Programme in Lower Saxony, different peatland restoration events in Canada and Europe as well as reports on recent symposia on cloudberry cultivation, mountain peatlands and other topics.
Special features are a report on the Irish Bogland protocol, an introduction to the Georgian Imnati Mire and the archaeological findings in peat bogs.
Last, but not least, the magazine reports about the IPS Annual Assembly held in Hanover, Germany in May, the presentation of the Wim Tonnis Peat Award and new IPS key people elected at the same venue.
Additionally, the Annual Report 2005 of IPS was sent out together with Peatlands International 1/2006.
